OK, so welcome to Poking Things With Sticks, my very own SEO and internet marketing blog.

I don’t know about you, but I felt the industry really needs another SEO blog. After all there is not nearly enough noise and opinionated ranting in this game, so another blog with totally contradictory views to everyone else is really going to help, don’t you think?

Seriously, though, I don’t have a particularly good reason for adding yet more clutter to the internet marketing blogosphere, but I don’t care. It’s just fun. OK?

So, the obvious question is this: Why am I using a wordpress.com subdomain rather than my own domain name?

Well, I just wanted to get something live quickly and I like the stats that come with WordPress.com blogs and I also like the tagging feature, which hopefully will bring me some traffic more quickly than using my own domain.

I reserve the right to move the whole thing to my own domain ( I do own PokingThingsWithSticks.co.uk and .com) if it looks worthwhile, but, for now, I’m happy here.
